Sheffield Wednesday Predicted 11 vs Notts County: More of the Same?
Sheffield Wednesday's Kop

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Notts County, looking to build on their Saturday win over AFC Wimbledon.

The Owls picked up an impressive 5-0 win over Wimbledon at Hillsborough, with Davis Keillor-Dunn catching the eye.

Their next test against Notts County should, on paper, be a slightly easier task, but as they found out against Wigan Athletic, league position means nothing.

We have the latest Sheffield Wednesday team news, our predicted 11, and scoreline.

Due to the short turnaround since the game on Saturday, it is unlikely the Owls have picked up any further injuries or that any other players will be back fit. They did manage to get through the game unscathed on Saturday as well, somewhat of a rarity these days for the Owls.

Joe Lumley was the surprise admission for the Wimbledon game. The club shared just before the game that Lumley had a rib injury. After the game, Henrik Pedersen told The Star:

“I think we’re speaking two to three weeks, but let’s see how quick it will go.”

Max Lowe will continue his return to action after coming off the bench on Saturday. Given the number of games in a short space of time, he will likely start against Notts County or Doncaster Rovers.

Sheffield Wednesday Predicted 11 vs Notts County

4-2-3-1: Maynard-Brewer; Valery, Otegbayo, Cooper, James; Mitchell, Heskey; Slattery, Keillor-Dunn, Gray; Al-Hamadi.

While it makes sense to not make many changes to the team that did so well against Wimbledon, Pedersen has got to consider the fitness of some players.

Di’Shon Bernard has been excellent since coming back, but he was out for so long; can he play three games in a week? Gabriel Otegbayo has done well from the bench and could start this game.

Liam Cooper is another the Owls have been managing minutes with since the start of the season. We’ve got him in our team, but if he does need to rest, should it be this game or Saturday? Sil Swinkels might be called on after the progress he’s made in training of late.

We’ve stuck with Reece James at left back. He was great on the weekend, but Lowe will likely be eager for his first start since returning.

The middle two of Barry Bannan and Jaden Heskey worked well against the Dons, but with games in quick succession, should Bannan be rested? Billy Mitchell isn’t a bad player to come in for him if that’s the case.

The front three were quality on Saturday as well. Callum Slattery and Keillor-Dunn rotated well, while Harry Gray was a threat on the left. Kieran Morrison is a good option from the bench when needed as well.

The forward spot could go to any of three options, really. Jamal Lowe didn’t get involved in the game too much Saturday, but the way the sides are operating, whoever plays in the spot is likely to have the same issue.

Ali Al-Hamadi made some good runs but was never picked out when he came on. He’s yet to start for the Owls and again, with so many games incoming, this could be a good one to try him from the off.
