Dunfermline's Allan Oyirwoth receives Uganda call-up

The 19-year-old has been selected by his country for a double-header with Botswana next month.

He was in their squad for fixtures last month, against Tunisia and Libya, which they drew 1-1, and won 1-0 respectively, and a friendly with DR Congo, which was drawn.

Uganda are top of qualifying Group H for the 24-team tournament, although they have automatically qualified as co-hosts, alongside Kenya and Tanzania.

Oyirwoth is in a 30-strong Uganda squad that will host Botswana on Saturday November 14, before travelling to play the reverse fixture three days later.

Since joining on loan in August from New England Revolution in Major League Soccer (MLS), with the Pars having an option to make the move permanent, Oyirwoth has been a regular in Neil Lennon's side.

To date, he has made 10 appearances, starting in all-but his debut, when he came off the bench to score in a Premier Sports Cup defeat to Ross County.

The 2027 AFCON, the 36th edition of the competition, is due to kick off on June 19 next year, and will run to July 17.
