Inter is working on a move for Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards, according to L’Interista. The United States international’s contract expires in June 2027, making him a potential free signing next summer.

Cristian Chivu is said to rate the 26-year-old highly. Inter wants a center-back with the experience to contribute immediately, while keeping the transfer cost and salary within its budget. Richards’ pace and strength in individual duels are among the qualities highlighted in the report.

His representative Alan Redmond confirmed interest from Serie A clubs in October and suggested a January move was possible. He did not name the interested clubs.

Richards joined Palace from Bayern Munich in July 2022 on a five-year deal. He started the 2025 FA Cup final win over Manchester City, helping Palace secure its first major trophy.
