The left back had not scored since joining Latics in the summer of 2025, but made up for it with an important brace in an impressive 4-1 win over Cheltenham Town.
Micky Mellon's men came out of the traps quickly in their attempts to build on last weekend's clean sheet and point against Accrington and round off a three-game week at Boundary Park by ending a six-game winless league run.
Kane Drummond - one of three changes to the starting line-up along with Will Sutton and Favour Fawunmi - had three early chances before being denied by the post. Calum Kavanagh turned in the rebound but had strayed offside in the build-up and it was ruled out.
Kavanagh was not denied for long though, and put Latics ahead in the 19th minute with his fifth of the season.
Fawunmi offered a threat from set pieces and Donervon Daniels was unlucky to see a downwards header tipped over by Wyll Stanway from a 25th minute corner.
But Stanway was beaten when the resultant corner from the opposite side was glanced in by Robson at the far left post.
Favour Fawunmi added a clinical third at the end of a counter attack initiated by Drummond deep in his own half to make it 3-0 in the 41st minute.
Cheltenham, who had been forced into a change to the line-up when Robbie Cundy was injured in the warm-up, pulled a goal back through Freddy Willcox fired into the roof of the net from close range after Oldham struggled to deal with an inswinging corner.
Mat Hudson made three big saves as Cheltenham tried to reduce the deficit but Latics continued to create chances and Fawunmi was unlucky to see a shot from distance rattle the inside of the post and bounce out and across goal.
Robson completed the scoreline in the 81st minute when his shot across Stanway nestled in the bottom right corner.
