The young Minstermen secured their first win of the season in midweek with a victory over Burton Albion, and will be hoping to build momentum when they travel to Oldham this Saturday, October 17.

Dave Morris, head of coaching at York City, said: "A win does wonders for your confidence; the boys were buoyant on the way home, and bounced into training on Thursday.

"We are really looking forward to the game on Saturday."

Ben Farrar was instrumental in the victory over Burton, scoring a penalty and providing assists for Michael Kydd and Sutton Greening.

York face a tough challenge against an Oldham side that beat Morecambe 6-0 last weekend.

The two teams last met in the National League U19 Alliance North last year, with York winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Harry Douglas and Farrar.

Their most recent encounter in the EFL Youth Alliance came in April 2016, when York again secured a 2-0 win.

Saturday’s match will be played at Chapel Road in Oldham, with kick-off at 10.45am.

Admission is free for all spectators.

The fixture concludes a demanding week of three away games for the young York side.
