The Indian opening batters quiz: Who is the only Indian to captain, keep wicket, and open in an ODI?

This quiz will test your knowledge on Indian opening batters.

Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan, one of India’s greatest opening pairs, were among of the oddities of cricket: for a long time, Gavaskar held the world record for most Test hundreds, while Chauhan had the most Test runs and fifties without ever scoring a hundred.

Gavaskar and Chauhan never held the world record for most runs as a pair in men’s Tests, but Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly hold the corresponding record in men’s ODIs, while Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana do the same in both women’s Tests and T20Is.

Take our quiz to test your knowledge on Indian opening batters.
