Former Spartan makes NBA debut, scores first career point

A former Spartan made his NBA debut on Saturday.

Former Michigan State men's basketball center Carson Cooper made his NBA debut for the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. He played three minutes and recorded one point, two rebounds and an assist in the Grizzlies' win over the Sacramento Kings.

Memphis is now 6-0 after the win on Saturday.

Cooper is in his first year in the NBA after signing as an undrafted free agent with the Grizzlies this offseason. Copper started for the Spartans last season and was a big factor in Michigan State reaching the Sweet 16.
