Ryan Day attends son's final high school game ahead of massive clash with Oregon

Ohio State has a massive game Saturday afternoon at home against Oregon in a game many consider to be a playoff eliminator for the loser.

However, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day took Friday night to turn his focus towards his family and more specifically, his son RJ.

In a massive playoff road game against one of the state's top programs, RJ and St. Francis Desales Stallions took on Massillon in one of the biggest high school venues in the country. It would prove to be RJ's final game as the Tigers rolled to a 48-0 win on Nov. 6.

A four-year starter for the Stallions, RJ set numerous program records during his tenure, including career passing yards, career passing touchdowns, single season passing touchdowns (25), single season passing yards (2,710), single game passing yards (482) along with the freshman and sophomore passing yardage records.

Despite having that built in connection with his dad, RJ won't be a Buckeye at the next level but he will be playing in the same conference that his dad coaches in.

A three-star prospect and the No. 104 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting cycle, RJ announced his commitment to Northwestern in May and has remained steadfast in that commitment since.

With the loss on Friday, St. Francis Desales finishes the season with an 8-4 and RJ finishes his career with a record of 31-14 over the last four years.
