Richarlison has been banished from Tottenham Hotspur’ first team and told he does not have a future at the club after expressing his desire to leave over the summer.
The Brazilian international last featured in Spurs’ first team in the 3-0 away defeat to Brentford on the opening weekend of the season. He has since been excluded from the 25-man Premier League squad by Roberto De Zerbi, with the Lilywhites failing to facilitate a transfer for the 29-year-old in the final days of the summer window.
Richarlison, who did not travel with the first-team squad to Marbella for a warm-weather training camp this week, played for the club’s Under-21s against Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy. The centre-forward scored for the Under-21s as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Cheltenham before losing 7-6 on penalties.
It very much looks like the Brazilian star has played his final game for the North London club. According to a report from ESPN Brazil, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor are showing ‘the most interest’ in signing Richarlison ahead of the upcoming window. The Turkish duo have already begun groundwork over a mid-season transfer for the Tottenham outcast, having held talks with the player’s representatives.
Spurs wanted around €20m-€25m to sell Richarlison in the summer, but with the forward entering the last nine months of his contract, they are ready to accept just €10m in the winter window to move him off their books completely.
This is the Lilywhites’ last real chance to recoup some cash for their unwanted striker before his contract expires in June 2027. Tottenham have the option to extend his contract by another 12 months, but they have informed Richarlison and his entourage that they will not activate the clause.
Brazilian outlet ESPN reports that Tottenham is prepared to let Richarlison depart in January and may accept around €10 million.

Trabzonspor attempted to sign the Tottenham man in the summer, though a move collapsed due to the Turkish club running out of foreign player registration slots before the window shut. The mid-season trading period should present Trabzonspor and Galatasaray with the opportunity to revive their interest in the South American star, who was Spurs’ top scorer last season with 12 goals.
It is good to see clubs have started lining up to sign Richarlison. We expect many more clubs to join the race for the ex-Everton star’s signature as and when the winter window draws close.
