The Friedkin Group are exploring a full sale of Everton football club.

The American investors were heavily criticised by Everton supporters after the disastrous summer transfer window, and it seems they’ve had enough after less than two years in charge.

Dell family would be the Premier League’s richest owners

Michael Dell, who made his fortune in tech, is one of the richest people on earth, with an estimated net worth of around $237.2bn.

Therefore, if the Dell family did buy Everton, they would be the richest owners in the Premier League by quite some distance.

The second richest private individual owner is Stan Kroenke at Arsenal, who is believed to be worth $27.6 bn.

The Dell family own a minority stake in an NFL team

Earlier this year, Michael Dell personally bought a 5.3% stake in NFL side Las Vegas Raiders. It is reported that he spent a staggering $524m on the stake.

The Raiders have made a hit-and-miss start to the season, as they’ve won three and lost three of their opening six matches.

They currently sit third in the AFC West standings.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has donated billions of dollars

Michael and his wife Susan Dell run the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, which has donated billions of dollars to meaningful causes.

The Foundation focuses on childhood poverty, education, urban healthcare, and pediatric research.

It was founded in 1999.

Michael Dell created MSD Partners, an American investment firm, to manage his personal wealth and investments.

Interestingly, MSD have held stakes in two football clubs: Casa Pia in Portugal and Spezia in Italy. Dell wasn’t involved operationally, but rather a high-level passive capital backer.

So, the potential Everton owner does have some sort of history in the football industry, even if it isn’t significant.
