Martin O’Neill remains hopeful that Camilo Durán can join the Celtic squad in Lisbon ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League meeting with Benfica.
The Colombian forward was absent from Celtic’s final training session in Glasgow on Wednesday morning.
His absence initially caused concern after Cameron Carter-Vickers was also missing from the session.

O’Neill subsequently confirmed that Carter-Vickers has suffered a hamstring strain, but Durán remained in Scotland because his partner was preparing to give birth.
Asked whether the attacker could still join the squad in Portugal, O’Neill explained that the decision depended entirely upon how matters progressed at home.
“It depends on how it goes,” he said.
“I haven’t heard any more news, but if everything goes all right without complications, then he’ll come.”
Durán’s partner has since confirmed the safe arrival of their baby by sharing a photograph on Instagram.
That could leave the door open for the Celtic forward to travel separately and link up with his teammates before the game.
However, there has been no confirmation that Durán has made or will make the journey to Lisbon.
Family understandably comes first, and Celtic will give the player and his partner the time they require.
His availability would nevertheless provide O’Neill with a major boost.
Durán has made an excellent start to his Celtic career and scored another superb goal during Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Motherwell.
Celtic will now wait to discover whether the new father can complete a late dash to Lisbon and play some part at the Estádio da Luz.
