India vs New Zealand's second ODI match has finished, as Shubman Gill’s side won the game by DLS method after being four runs ahead in the match during a rain-curtailed game. They have now taken a 0-2 lead in the five-match series. After the win, former India batter Ambati Rayudu has taken a swipe at the bowling-friendly pitches in New Zealand.

The Men in Blue have been performing well in the ODIs as they won the first ODI comfortably after a dominating bowling performance, and in the second ODI it was a similar performance from the inexperienced pace bowling attack. Shubman Gill’s side would like to win the third ODI and win the series for the first time since 2018/19.

While speaking on Cricbuzz, former India National Cricket Team batter Ambati Rayudu took a swipe at New Zealand Cricket, where they tried to play a gamble of letting the Indian team bat first so that their bowlers could get early breakthroughs and create trouble for the Men in Blue. However, luck has not favoured them, so Rayudu thinks that they should make a sporting wicket.

Ambati Rayudu said (as quoted by Sportskeeda), "They are just taking a punt on Indian team batting first and getting their bowlers into the game early. But sometimes luck doesn't favor you, and I don't think it's the right way to go because you just need to prepare a track that is going to be similar in both innings; otherwise, you are going to face such kind of problems."

Bowlers dominate in India vs New Zealand series

In the first two ODIs, the batters have struggled to score runs for both teams. The Kiwi batters failed to go past the 200-run mark in the series so far after being asked to bat first. They were bowled out for 185 runs in the first game, and in the second game the home side were bundled out for 134 runs.

In this second game India batters also struggled on a bouncy track, as they were reduced to 113/7 at one stage and still needed 22 runs to win the game as the rain saved their day though KL Rahul was set at the other end and could have won the game but it could have gone down to the wire.

Murali Kartik takes a swipe at Mitchell Santner

In the same video, Murali Kartik took a funny dig at New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner for not winning the toss. The former India spinner stated that Santner should bring a proxy captain, citing the example of South Africa’s famous proxy captain incident against India when Faf du Plessis brought in Temba Bavuma during a Test match back in 2019.

He said, "They have to send some proxy captain. Virat Kohli had Faf du Plessis and Temba Bavuma alongside me because Faf wasn't winning anything at home. Out of the seven tosses, Santner has lost six. He has only won one. They need to send a proxy captain because they are making tracks like this."'
