Arsenal came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, with Declan Rice scoring a late equaliser.

It was a brilliant Champions League encounter, full of high quality and twists and turns. Bukayo Saka was forced off injured inside 10 minutes, but his replacement, Eberechi Eze, put Arsenal ahead around 15 minutes after coming on.

Alphonso Davies equalised 10 minutes later, before a Harry Kane penalty just after the hour mark put Bayern in front. Rice levelled in the 82nd minute after good work from Viktor Gyokeres.

TalkingPoints

Arsenal claim a point away to Bayern! What is your reaction to that performance? 🤔

Bayern’s star man was involved in both of their goals, but he felt a draw was the right result.

Harry Kane admits draw was ‘a fair result’

Speaking after the game on TNT Sports, Harry Kane said: “I thought it was a good performance. Probably the draw was a fair result overall. We probably just didn’t get quite enough right tonight to get the win.

“Nice to get the assist to get back into the game and then I thought we had some good moments but not enough over the 90 minutes.”

Kane set up Davies’ equaliser with a superb pass from the halfway line in behind Timber, and then scored the penalty himself. That’s now 16 goals against Arsenal, extending his record as the player who has scored the most against the club.

His penalty means one stat still stands, though. Kane has never scored in open play against Ezri Konsa, and that didn’t change tonight.

The draw also keeps Bayern’s unbeaten run in group and league phase games at the Allianz going, now 40 matches. For Arsenal, avoiding defeat at one of Europe’s toughest venues is a result to build on, and they will be keeping their fingers crossed on Saka’s fitness ahead of Everton.
