Tyson Fury Names The Current Best Heavyweight In The World And It’s Not Him

Tyson Fury has come out in support of one of the heavyweight division’s current crop of talents.

For many years Fury proclaimed himself to be the best heavyweight on the planet, and even after losing to Oleksandr Usyk, he disputed the result.

Over the last 15 years, he did show himself to be a rare talent in that he could box and move like a man half his size while dancing around the likes of Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko to get impressive wins on away soil and make himself a two-time heavyweight champion.

Now he is fast approaching forty and in the twilight of his career, and in a social media clip he admitted that he believes Daniel Dubois is the best in the division right now.

“I believe he is one of the best if not the best heavyweight on the scene at the moment. Young at 29 years old, fresh, and he just seems to be getting better, which is testament to his Don Charles, and his father, and everybody else.

“I think Don is doing a fantastic job. I think Don doesn’t get enough credit for the job he does; he looks after these fighters not only as boxers but like children, I’ve heard him say it before.

“He looks after them really good. Nice guy, we’ve had our rivalries in the past but only sporting. So fantastic to Don, congratulations.”

Fury could be on a charm offensive ahead of a potential clash with Dubois, who has already come out and said he would love the chance to fight ‘The Gypsy King.’

Dubois retained his WBO heavyweight title last weekend with an emphatic second round knockout win over Fabio Wardley, having won their first fight back in May by 11th round stoppage.

As for Fury, he must get through his December 11 battle with former Dubois victim Anthony Joshua if there is any chance of a fight with Dubois happening in 2027.
