Former Leicester City academy striker Adi Yussuf has continued his coaching journey at the club by becoming assistant manager of the Foxes' Under-21s.

Yussuf previously served as assistant manager of Leicester's Under-18s after retiring from playing. He began his career at the club and regularly featured for the reserves, but never made a senior appearance.

He went on to play for Burton Albion, Mansfield Town, Solihull Moors, Crawley Town and Oxford City, while earning four caps for Tanzania after making his international debut in June 2019.

Yussuf returned to Leicester while still playing for non-league side Halesowen Town, joining the Premier League's Professional Player to Coach Scheme (PPCS). He began working with Adam Barradell's Under-18s last year.

He has now taken the next step in his coaching career by joining Leon McSweeney's Under-21s staff as assistant manager. "I'm happy to share that I'm starting a new position as Under-21 Assistant Coach at Leicester City Football Club!

"Grateful for the opportunity to take the next step in my coaching journey."

Yussuf is a well-liked figure at Leicester, having previously worked with a number of players who have progressed through the club. Bade Aluko, Jayden Joseph, Ben Nelson, Kasey McAteer and Tom Wilson-Brown were among those who liked his announcement on Instagram.

First-team coach Andy King, who previously worked in the academy, commented “Top”, while Stevie Bausor, Silko Thomas, Kevon Gray, Josh King and Brad Young also showed their support.

Yussuf is also the CEO and founder of nogoalsnosleep, a lifestyle and apparel brand that sells activewear, including caps, shorts and T-shirts. In September, the brand hosted a tournament at WhatAGoal near Hamilton, attracting more than 300 people.

Former Leicester players Wes Morgan, Liam Moore and Jeffrey Schlupp attended, alongside Dempsey Arlott-John and current City players Jayden Joseph, Lorenz Hutchinson and Misrad Ali.
