Charlie Woods claimed medalist honors at the Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart, propelling the Buccaneers to the Class 1A-District 14 championship title.

The victory advances Benjamin's defense of its Florida boys golf state championship while marking a strong resurgence for Woods, who is the son of 15-time major champion Tiger, following a recent rough patch. The Florida State commit fired a two-under-par 69, sealing the medalist title with a stunning 40-foot birdie putt on the closing hole.

Fueled by Woods' stellar performance, Benjamin posted a team total of 290, cruising to a commanding 15-shot victory over runner-up Oxbridge Academy.

Although King's Academy and Oxbridge Academy made early pushes, the Buccaneers pulled clear on the back nine to secure the district crown and keep their postseason momentum alive.

"We got two good rounds out of Charlie and Brooks," said Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck. "Charlie made a 40-foot putt on the last hole to win the individual title. Charlie shot a 69 and Brooks shot a 70. That's what you want out of your No. 1 and No. 2."

Woods recorded birdies on the fourth, 10th, 13th, and 18th holes, parring the remaining 13. His clutch final putt allowed him to edge out teammate Brooks Colton by just one stroke, after Colton carded a one-under 70 that included an eagle on the fourth hole.

The victory was all the more impressive given the grueling conditions the young golfers battled throughout the day. "It played really hard, long, and windy and rainy," Harbeck said. "It was everything. So, I'm very pleased. You're trying to move on each week and get to the finals, so that's what we did. We've got to keep going forward."

The Buccaneers clinched the Class 1A state title in November 2025 with a combined score of 572. Woods, who is set to join Florida State next year, may also compete alongside his father in a PGA Tour tournament this December.

During an appearance on the Fore Play podcast, Kevin Kisner disclosed that the 82-time PGA Tour winner Woods is looking to make a complete TGL comeback this year and could participate in both the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship.

"He's going to play both," said Kisner, a four-time PGA Tour winner.

"He can't have any more setbacks injury-wise. The way he was swinging and moving on the range, I mean, the guy loves to compete. Come back, get your feet wet at the Hero, play with Charlie in the Father/Son, play some TGL, get ready for Augusta."
