Brendan Rodgers has reportedly equalled Al-Qadsiah’s record for Saudi Pro League victories as a manager after a stoppage-time winner kept his side top of the table.

Tuesday night’s victory was Rodgers’ 26th league win in charge, matching predecessor Míchel’s tally in seven fewer matches.

The former Celtic boss had to wait until the closing moments to reach that reported milestone.

The result leaves them on 25 points, one ahead of Al-Hilal, who have a game in hand.

Those sides meet on Friday at Al-Qadsiah’s ground, giving Rodgers an immediate opportunity to strengthen his team’s position against their closest challengers.

The former Celtic gaffer is due back in the city next summer for an evening reflecting on his two spells at Parkhead.

An Audience with Brendan Rodgers, presented by A Celtic State of Mind, takes place at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Monday, June 14, 2027.

That will give supporters the chance to hear his perspective on a Celtic career that brought considerable domestic success.

His attention is on Friday’s meeting with Al-Hilal, after Reijnders’ late winner ensured Al-Qadsiah will go into it looking down on the rest of the table. It’s a massove top of the table clash.
