Daniel Farke says he expected Harry Wilson to need time to adapt to life at Leeds United, but he's adamant the winger will soon start to show the type of quality that made him such a big hit at Fulham.

Wilson arrived from Craven Cottage in the summer with a great deal of excitement surrounding his transfer to Elland Road, but has so far failed to replicate the level of performance that made Leeds push so hard to get him and made him one of the division's big threats in attack.

The 29-year-old Wales international has not featured in every game for Leeds and has also only started in one of his five Premier League games so far, with the player yet to break his duck with a first goal for his new club.

Farke says Wilson's attitude and approach has been exemplary since the first day of his arrival at the club's Thorp Arch training ground, but the need to find his way in a new system, with new team-mates and the amount of work needed off the ball has all impacted his ability to make a difference with the ball. However, the Leeds boss is convinced that is all about to change.

"I think that he had a bit difficult start is quite quite normal because he is a quality player of course, but it's also a fact that he is right now in the new surrounding, and more or less, he has played five years, I think, in total for, for Fulham, and it's also easy to explain," said Farke.

"He was always a player who is capable to score goals, who is capable to to be there with an assist, to be very creative, to to be there with a final decisive pass, to create a piece of magic with his with his left foot, and it's also fair to say that he came right now into a new setup where we play also different in comparison to Fulham in the in the in the last years.

"They have played against the ball very often in four-four-two. He was very often like on the right wing and could perhaps even not hide, but to defend with perhaps less intensity that he would have to do right now in our setup. So he has to deliver with more defensive work and more work in the pressing and more work against the ball.

"He's trying to adapt to this necessities, and you know because it's not like we as a team have to adapt to more or less Harry's skills that he shines. It's the other way around. I'm pretty pleased and happy. He's worked so hard on his fitness level, also so hard to adapt to this.

"I think his intensity against the ball, his workload against the ball, is on a on a way better level in comparison to how it was when he arrived. But on the flip side, when you have to work more against the ball, sometimes it leads a bit that a little bit of energy and concentration and tidiness in possession is then not not there. But as soon as he adapts, also like to the new necessities against the ball, I'm pretty sure his quality will shine through rather sooner than later.

"He's working hard in training and it is just like the final piece is missing. And if he finds this piece, then he can do the same for us what he did also at Fulham."
