‘Get Ready To Learn SKOL,’ ‘He Knows He Wants To Join Deep Down’ — Vikings Fans Push Jonathan Taylor Trade Idea After Colts RB’s Comments on Future

Jonathan Taylor has a trip to Minnesota coming up. Some Vikings fans would apparently prefer that he leave the return flight to his Colts teammates.

The Indianapolis running back’s comments about his future sent supporters straight into recruiting mode ahead of Sunday’s matchup. Taylor, however, has publicly emphasized his current responsibilities while fans imagine what he could do in purple.

Vikings Fans Start Recruiting Jonathan Taylor

Asked about his future and the trade deadline Thursday, Taylor said he had not been considering a move.

“I haven’t given it any thought; that would be crazy right now,” Taylor said. “We’ve got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against.”

He explained that dwelling on hypothetical outcomes would be unfair to his teammates and the organization. That answer arrived during an unsettled week in Indianapolis. The Coltsfired Chris Ballard on Monday after their loss to the Tennessee Titans dropped them to 2-4, creating fresh questions about the franchise’s direction.

Vikings fans were happy to offer Taylor a destination after hearing that the running back called them a “great” team.

“Y’all hear that first part? 👀 Get ready to learn SKOL buddy,”one fan wrote.

Another account leaned into the Minnesota enthusiasm.

“Great Minnesota Vikings team, indeed,”VikingzFanPage wrote.

The recruiting pitch quickly became a request for action from the front office.

“Dude wants to be a Viking so bad, let’s work the phone, Nolan,”another fan added, referring to Nolan Teasley, the Vikings general manager.

“Sounds like he wants to be a Minnesota Viking to me… Make the Teasley!!!”one supporter wrote.

Those reactions reflect what fans took from the comments. Taylor’s stated position was that he remained focused on Indianapolis, and the remarks themselves do not establish that he has requested a trade to Minnesota.

Taylor’s Production Gives Fans Plenty To Imagine

One fan added, “Great Minnesota Vikings team, he knows he wants to join deep down.”

While another wrote, “Going to be a Viking next week.”

The appeal of adding Taylor is easy to understand. Through Week 6, he ranks 10th in PFN’sRB Impact Rankings with an 80.6 grade. He has produced 655 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns across six games.

Minnesota’s Aaron Jones sits 32nd with a 71.8 grade, totaling 482 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in five appearances. Taylor’s production offers an obvious reason for supporters to entertain the idea, although those numbers alone do not indicate whether a deal is available.

There is also a significant contractual commitment involved. Taylor signed a two-year, $44 million extension in August that runs through the 2028 season.

For now, Sunday gives Vikings fans a chance to see Taylor up close while their defense tries to stop him. The welcome messages have arrived considerably earlier than any trade announcement.
