Nottingham Forest are in desperate need of points in the Premier League with Oliver Glasner’s start to life at the club turning into a nightmare.
It’s not a shock that Glasner hasn’t started well. The former Crystal Palace manager had slow starts with the Eagles and with Eintracht Frankfurt before eventually getting things right with both of those outfits.

Glasner needs players like Liam Delap, Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo to stand up to be counted as Forest once again look to pull clear of the relegation zone. Delap was criticised after the Arsenal game – even though he actually played quite well.
After a mediocre start to life at Forest, club legend Stuart Pearce has had his say on the talisman, offering him some advice on what he needs to do to become a real City Ground favourite.
Pearce was relatively impressed with Delap against Arsenal, but did share a reservation about the striker and advised him on what to work on going forward as his Forest career progresses.
Delap has got off the mark in a Forest shirt. He scored a brilliant first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Aston Villa and the future does look bright for the physical striker.
Pearce advised him on TalkSPORT, saying: “He’s certainly up for the battle; there is no doubt about that. He liked to get stuck in with Gabriel and Ezri Konsa. He likes the physicality of the game, but for me he’s just got to work out when to be physical and when not to be physical, you can’t do that all of the time, you’ve got to play with your head in some ways. The chance you’re talking about with Delap, Konsa gets back, it should be finished with two touches, and he took three. He does give Forest a focal point, though, for sure.”
Given that Delap hasn’t played much football during his year at Chelsea, he’s always going to take time to settle. Just because he’s had a bad game or two, it doesn’t really mean he’s a bad player.
Forest fans will have to be patient with the talisman. Delap isn’t going to start banging goals in straight away, but with more game time, he should develop a more composed streak and start to hit the net on a more consistent basis.
