Why Leeds press will suit Spurs' style

Tottenham fan Kish Patel has given a tactical analysis of why he feels Leeds United are a good team for Spurs to be playing this weekend.

"Leeds are a good match-up for Spurs because it is so hard in the modern day to take control of games in the Premier League now," he told BBC Radio London.

"This wasn't the case six years ago when a lot of lesser teams against the big boys would sit in and hope for moments.

"Now every team backs themselves to be aggressive and go man-to-man. Leeds, at home, will want to be aggressive, and they will want to press high.

"That is what Daniel Farke has built the home form on, and this will suit Spurs. Now we have Mateus Fernandes in midfield, we are equipped to play through that press.

"If James Maddison plays, then he will ask one of the centre-backs to follow him, and that drags people around.

"Leeds are not in the best place. If you're trying to be aggressive and there is not a 100% buy-in from the players and the crowd, then sometimes your distances can be off.

"I am hoping for a convincing win in this game for Spurs."
