Leicester City fans predict where they’ll finish come the end of the season

Leicester City are currently languishing in the bottom half of League One.

After the 3-1 defeat to Peterborough United on the weekend, Leicester find themselves just one point above the relegation zone.

Some supporters are genuinely fearful of dropping to League Two and becoming the first club in English football history to suffer three successive relegations.

If they go down, I think it will be the first time in English professional football history that a club has gone from the top to division four following 3 successive relegations.

However, when asking fans to predict where City will finish come the end of the season, with 117 points to play for, there were some very contrasting views.

TalkingPoints

Russell Martin is clearly here to stay… so how can he fix Leicester City? What needs to change? 🤔

Some Leicester City fans still think play-offs are on the cards

There is genuine rationale to suggest Leicester’s results will change under Martin, as his previous jobs amplify that his teams do improve after slow starts. At Southampton, he went on a 25-game unbeaten run after losing four on the bounce in September 2023.

With that said, Jordan Harris does anticipate a change in fortunes for the Foxes and believes a play-off finish is on the cards.

I think 5th, long long way to go

Chillout probably has a similar feeling to a lot of City fans right now as he can’t decide between relegation or a top six finish.

I just don’t know. It just seems to be getting worse. At some stage it will become unsustainable if things continue the way they are. It will be play-offs of relegation though – no middle ground.

George.patten feels a change in the dugout is necessary, and if the board get his replacement right, a fifth or sixth-placed finish is likely.

With Martin – 15th. If you sack him and bring in a competent replacement? 5th or 6th

Harveyleonard99 agrees with George and feels Martin is damaging Leicester’s chances of promotion and should be replaced.

Safe from relegation but a good distance away from the top 10. They’d be better off ditching him now before he does too much damage

Clearly, the optimism of automatic promotion has completely dissipated, and the best many can hope for is play-offs.

It’s worth noting that whilst Leicester are 10 points adrift of league leaders Plymouth Argyle, they do have two games in hand.

So if they were to win both, they’d only be four points behind Plymouth, which changes the whole feeling around the club and fanbase.

It can all change very quickly in football, and Martin will be desperate to bounce back with a win against Doncaster Rovers this weekend.
