The Philadelphia Eagles were unable to secure a win on Sunday against Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers, putting them at 2-4 so far in the 2026 NFL season.
Young threw two touchdown passes as the Panthers picked up a 25-14 win at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Seeing the Eagles lose to the Panthers just didn’t sit well with the team’s fans, leaving them to direct their venom toward Sirianni.
This defeat also gave Philadelphia a losing home record this season, falling to 1-2 in front of the Eagles fans.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts did not start after being placed on injured reserve with a superficial blood clot in his calf, leaving Tanner McKee to run the offense, which ranks 29th on PFN’s Offense Impact Metric. McKee had 1 touchdown pass and finished with a QB rating of 77.5. But that didn’t matter much to the fanbase, as it didn’t hold back when commenting about Sirianni.
NFL News Editor Brenden Deeg of The Score wrote online, “Nick Sirianni’s inability to solve defenses blitzing his quarterbacks is truly mind-boggling.”
This NFL fan pointed out that Sirianni is in his sixth year as Eagles head coach, yet wasn’t impressed one bit. The fan wrote, “We’re in year 6 of Nick Sirianni. And he still hasn’t figured out the Blitz. We’re witnessing an all-time bad HC.”
Well, this fan is quite pointedly asking the Eagles’ front office to do something, like getting rid of Sirianni after this season. The fan wrote, “No amount of injuries should save Nick Sirianni. This cannot be a year to give him a pass. I’m begging that front office to end this!!! Clean house.”
NFL host and content creator Chase Senior made a point with his comments, saying that Hurts really is not the issue when it comes to the Eagles. Senior headed out online and posted this: “I think we saw today: Jalen Hurts is not the problem for the Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Sirianni is.”
Another fan wants Sirianni to get his pink slip on Monday. Heck, this fan probably wanted Philadelphia to send him packing on Sunday night. The fan wrote, “This Eagles offense is so predictable and stale. Send Nick Sirianni to the unemployment office tomorrow morning.”
Miles Johnson, host of “Real Talk With MJ,” thinks that Sirianni should be kind to Hurts and even give him a tip of the cap for keeping him employed.
Johnson posted online, “Nick Sirianni should thank Jalen Hurts every day for keeping him employed. Hurts has masked so many of the Eagles’ flaws offensively. If we’re keeping it a buck, without Hurts, they would be 0-5 like the Chargers.”
Finally, this fan wasn’t through yelling at Sirianni or the Eagles’ front office. The fan wants action taken, and taken right away. This person wrote online, “Fire Michael Clay, Fire Nick Sirianni, [expletive] fire everyone but Vic Fangio.”
Will Sirianni last through this season? The Eagles might become one of the NFL’s soap operas this season.
