Kim Kardashian has reignited her viral towel controversy with Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli after a playful exchange at the Singapore Grand Prix, months after the reality star accidentally walked away with his post-race towel.
Kardashian was attending the event to support Lewis Hamilton, who now races for Ferrari. Her earlier encounter with Antonelli became one of the season’s most talked-about off-track moments after footage appeared to show her taking a towel reserved for the Italian driver following his Monaco victory.
The incident later inspired a light-hearted exchange between Antonelli and his Mercedes team-mates, before Kardashian gave the young driver a personalised replacement.
At the Singapore event, Kardashian appeared to acknowledge their shared history with a joke that brought a smile to the paddock.
“No, Kimi, this time I don’t dare touch your towel,” she reportedly told Antonelli.
The exchange was widely shared online, although there is an important caveat: the line was attributed to Kardashian in a post from an unofficial Mercedes fan account, which did not include video or audio of her saying it. The team’s own Singapore gallery also did not mention the towel joke.
The original incident took place after Antonelli’s victory in Monaco. Television footage appeared to show Kardashian picking up the folded towel from the winner’s marker, using it to wipe her face and sunglasses before walking away with it.
Mercedes quickly turned the mix-up into a running joke, with Antonelli asking team-mates whether they had seen his missing towel.
Kardashian later made amends by giving the Mercedes driver a replacement embroidered with the message “To Kimi from Kim”. Antonelli thanked her in a video shared by the team, helping turn the awkward moment into a friendly paddock story.

Their latest encounter has brought the episode back into the spotlight, with the towel becoming an unlikely talking point throughout the season.
Away from the celebrity moment, Antonelli continued his impressive campaign in Singapore, finishing third and maintaining his championship lead. Hamilton, meanwhile, finished sixth for Ferrari.
For Kardashian, the towel saga has become a reminder that even a small paddock mishap can take on a life of its own in Formula 1, particularly when some of the sport’s biggest names are involved.
