Michael Stewart has given credit to Derek McInnes for a tactical tweak regarding Minsu Kim as Rangers played out a 2-2 draw with Dundee.
Minsu was among the best players for Rangers at Dens Park and was unfortunate to not leave Dundee with three points.
The South Korean played in a more central position, with Badredine Bouanani playing on the right wing.

What changes should Derek McInnes make to the Rangers XI vs St Johnstone?
This poll is now closed.
Stewart has credited McInnes for acting quickly after the Gers got off to a bad start and found themselves a goal down in the first half. The manager told Minsu to play further up the pitch and closer to Ryan Naderi, and that proved to be the right call.
Minsu is a player who likes to be on the ball, and given how the game was going, it meant that he had to drop deeper in order to receive possession. This saw him being further away from the opponent’s goal, as well as Naderi, who was leading the line for the Light Blues.
As a number 10, the South Korean is expected to link up with the striker and be as close to him as possible. However, he was not able to do that initially, but the tactical tweak led to him being at his best again.
Speaking on Premier Sports’ Scottish Football Social Club, Stewart said: “A little tweak where you heard Derek McInnes talking about getting Minsu higher up the park, closer to Naderi. It definitely did make a difference.”
Given Djeidi Gassama’s lack of form and the fact that Kevin Kelsy is thriving in the final third, it makes sense for McInnes to play Minsu on the left wing. Dropping Gassama for a game or two could be the right answer, and it will give the manager a chance to play with two strikers again.
Kelsy and Naderi have shown that they can work in tandem, and the home game against St Johnstone may just be perfect for them to achieve that. It remains to be seen if the 55-year-old actually does make that change.
