The 2026 edition of the World Series is officially set, and for the first time since 1980, a team will win a championship for the first time in its franchise history. As the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays prepare to do battle this Friday in Game 1, the quest to raise the Commissioner’s Trophy will surely be a tightly contested battle between two very similar teams.

On this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman first give their thoughts on Game 6 of the ALCS, which saw the Rays knock out the Cleveland Guardians in a three-games-to-two series, and discuss how impressive it was for Tampa Bay to finish off the series the way they did. They then try to figure out where the Guardians go from here after being eliminated and further extending their World Series title drought.

Later in the show, Jake and Jordan give a complete position-by-position breakdown of the World Series matchup, including why those outside the baseball world will get to know Junior Caminero, the importance of Jacob Misiorowski going deeper into games, and which team has the edge in this series. The guys then talk about which players need a World Series win the most, who could take home Series MVP honors and make their picks for who they think will go all the way.
