The Arizona Cardinals take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in Week 9 in Seattle. The game begins at 4:25 p.m. ET (2:25 p.m. Arizona time) at Lumen Field, and the game will air on FOX. Both teams are dealing with injuries.
One player of note is Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. He suffered a rib injury and a quad injury in the Seahawks' 34-17 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday.
What is his latest status for the game against the Cardinals?
Darnold will not face the Cardinals. Head coach Mike Macdonald announced Darnold's injuries on Wednesday and ruled him out, saying that Drew Lock would start in his place in Week 9.
Lock started in place of Darnold in Week 2 against the Cardinals and led the Seahawks to a 31-7 win in Arizona, throwing three touchdown passes.
While no timetable has been revealed, he is considered week-to-week. The hope is that the week off will be enough rest for him to come back in Week 10.
