Xabi Alonso has named his starting XI for Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Blues should be full of confidence after their 5-1 victory over Bournemouth last weekend.
Alonso made several tactical adjustments after Chelsea’s disappointing 3-0 defeat to Brentford before the international break, and they worked perfectly against the Cherries. It looks as though he will stick with the same approach against David Moyes’ Everton.
Caicedo captains the side!
Emiliano Martinez continues in goal and will hope to keep his first clean sheet since joining the West London club this summer. Xabi Alonso has also chosen to stick with a back three of Josh Acheampong, Maxence Lacroix and Levi Colwill.
Moises Caicedo immediately proved his importance to the team on his return from injury last weekend, while Jordan Henderson was always likely to keep his place after scoring a brace. Pedro Neto and Jorrel Hato offer great balance out wide in the wing-back positions, with in-form summer signing Pep Chavarria missing from the squad.
Alonso is unlikely to change his front three while they are all available for selection. The dynamic trio of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers, nicknamed CPR, have been outstanding throughout the 2026/27 campaign so far.
Danny Welbeck, Estevao, Romeo Lavia and Marco Palestra are among the big names Alonso can turn to from the bench at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
