Tottenham confirm two Women’s Super League fixture changes for December TV broadcast

Tottenham Hotspur Women have announced new dates and kickoff times for two December league matches after broadcasters finalised their winter TV picks. Supporters planning to watch the games against Charlton Athletic and Manchester United will need to update their calendars.

Tottenham Hotspur Women fans have two big diary changes to note ahead of the festive run-in. On Thursday, the Barclays Women’s Super League wrapped up its television broadcast picks for December. As a result, two Tottenham fixtures now have new slots to suit live coverage. Both changes affect key games right before the winter break.

First of all, the home London derby against Charlton Athletic will no longer take place on Sunday, December 13. Instead, league bosses have moved the match forward to Friday, December 11. Kickoff at Brisbane Road is now set for 7 pm under the floodlights. Sky Sports will show the Friday night clash live across the UK.

Playing under the lights in Leyton always brings a great atmosphere for the Lilywhites. Furthermore, moving the derby to Friday evening gives Martin Ho’s squad two extra days to recover before their next outing. That extra rest could prove vital during a busy winter schedule. Supporters who cannot make it to Brisbane Road can watch every minute from home.

New Kickoff Time For Pre-Christmas Trip To Manchester United

Meanwhile, the away trip to Manchester United later that month also has a new start time. Tottenham will still travel north to the Progress with Unity Stadium in Leigh on Sunday, December 20. However, the league has pushed kickoff back from 1 pm to 2.30 pm. The BBC will broadcast that pre-Christmas showdown live.

A slightly later start in Greater Manchester should make the Sunday journey a bit easier for travelling Spurs fans. More importantly, having two straight December games on live television shows the growing pull of Ho side this term. Before then, Tottenham must keep their focus on the Sunday afternoon trip to Birmingham City. Picking up points in the Midlands remains the main goal this weekend.
