Mikel Arteta has finalised preparations at the Sobha Realty Training Ground ahead of Arsenal's clash against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup. The Gunners boss will be determined to finally win the competition, having lost to Manchester City in the final at Wembley Stadium last season.

So, while Arteta may rotate his side, he'll still likely field a number of big names at Highbury on Tuesday night. Arsenal will certainly fancy their chances against the League Two outfit, but they won't go down without a fight.

Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire ahead of the tie, Matt Lawlor has claimed his players must not fear the reigning Premier League champions. The Cod Army gaffer said: "It is an amazing night for the club and an amazing night for the fans, the town and the area.

"We have sold out for the first time in 11 or 12 years, which is unbelievable, and it is an amazing thing to be a part of. We are glad that it is here, and we are glad that we are welcoming the best team in the country and the champions of last year to Highbury.

"The champions are coming to town on our patch, and it's on telly, so if you can't get up for this game, you can't get up for any game. The players need to be excited for it, but while respect is through the roof, the fear can't be."

Aware of the task at hand, Arteta has been putting the players through their paces. So, with that being said, football.london has looked at a few things you may have missed in training.

Arteta calls up SIX more Hale End stars

In addition to Max Dowman and Marli Salmon, Arteta invited six Hale End stars to take part in first-team training ahead of Arsenal's clash against Fleetwood Town. Andre Harriman-Annous, ceadach o’neill, Marcell Washington, Theo Julienne, Igor Tyjon, and Ife Ibrahim were all involved, hoping to catch the Spaniard's eye.

Unfortunately, many of them won't be in action at Highbury Stadium on Tuesday night, as the under-21s are set to play AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Trophy. It's the final group game of the competition; so long as Leyton Orient do not beat Barnet, the Gunners only need a draw to qualify for the knockout stages.

Gabriel nowhere to be seen

Gabriel Magalhaes was nowhere to be seen in the latest batch of shots from the Sobha Realty Training Ground. The defender didn't appear to suffer a knock of any kind over the weekend, when Arsenal cruised past Everton, but he was probably due a rest and likely would have been rested for Tuesday night's game anyway.

No Calafiori either

Riccardo Calafiori was also absent from training ahead of the Carabao Cup tie. Having started each of the previous seven Premier League games, Arteta raised eyebrows when he left the defender out of the starting lineup at the weekend.

Calafiori was brought off the bench during the second half, though, only to suffer a knock and spend the majority of the stoppage time standing up front, while Noni Madueke filled his shoes at left-back. Upon the final whistle, the Italy international headed straight down the tunnel.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Arteta confirmed Calafiori had picked up a minor problem. The Arsenal boss said: "Yeah, I wasn’t that mad to change those two from their positions. It was because he had a slight issue; we don't know what it is. It seems to be something very small, but he was cautious about it."

As it stands, the severity of the issue remains unclear, but the Italian was not spotted in the latest batch of training pictures...

Rice and Bruno win minigame

All in all, the Arsenal players were in great spirits at the Sobha Realty Training Ground. Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes were particularly pleased with themselves, having won a game of football-beachball with Harriman-Annous and Ceadach O’Neill.
