Gloucester have secured the future of one of their standout performers, with Will Joseph signing a new contract after an impressive start to the season.
RUCK understands that the 24-year-old has agreed to an extension that will keep him at Kingsholm for the foreseeable future.
Joseph has scored three tries in five starts this season, building on an encouraging first campaign with the Cherry and Whites.
The news also follows Gloucester’s recent announcement that Charlie Atkinson has signed a new deal, which RUCK reported first.
Joseph scored seven tries in all competitions last season, establishing himself as one of Gloucester’s most reliable performers during a difficult campaign.
Things are looking brighter this term. Boosted by the arrivals of Dewi Lake and Jac Morgan, Gloucester sit top of the PREM Rugby table after winning two of their opening three matches.
Joseph began his rugby journey at London Irish, joining the club’s academy aged 13 before making his senior debut in 2021.
He quickly made his mark, scoring in the semi-final of the 2021/22 Premiership Rugby Cup before starting in the final, where Irish finished as runners-up.
His performances also earned him opportunities with England. After representing the country at under-18 and under-20 level, he received his first senior call-up in May 2022.
Joseph made his England debut against Australia in July that year, coming off the bench in England’s second Test victory during their tour.
He was later named in Steve Borthwick’s initial training squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup but did not make the final selection.
Following London Irish’s collapse, Joseph joined Harlequins in 2023 and scored on his Premiership Rugby Cup debut.
In February 2025, Gloucester confirmed that the centre would join them ahead of the 2025/26 season, giving him a fresh opportunity to establish himself at another PREM club.
That move has proved successful, with Joseph now playing a key role in Gloucester’s strong start to the campaign and committing his future to the club.
He is also the younger brother of England international Jonathan Joseph, who plays for Biarritz.
