Ashton Jeanty and the Las Vegas Raiders are set to face the New York Jets this weekend, but they apparently have no reason to worry about their defence.
The Jets are 2-5 to start the season, with HC Aaron Glenn still unable to get the most out of his current crop of players.
While many expected the Jets to play poorly this season, one comment from Ashton Jeanty could prove to be a scathing indictment of their effort.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Las Vegas Raiders’ game against the New York Jets, RB Ashton Jeanty was asked about executing their rushing game against them.
He noted that the Jets will give them an opportunity to pull off some strong rushing performances, as many of their defensive players aren’t concerned with tackling opponents or using their bodies to stop the opposition.

"Yeah. I think we can definitely get the run game going. Get back on track. … A couple guys out there that don't really want to tackle, but I'm not going to say names." 😳 pic.twitter.com/ySSn53MpMC

Jeanty said: “Yeah. I think we can definitely get the run game going. Get back on track and just really get after these guys. A couple of guys out there that don’t really want to tackle, but I’m not going to say names.”
This season, the Jets rank third for most rushing attempts allowed by the opposition with 217, which shows just how susceptible they are to the running game.

However, Jeanty’s comments about the Jets’ unwillingness to tackle each other don’t align with their numbers this season.
The Jets have 264 tackles this season, the 10th-highest tackle count across the league this season, which shows that they can get physical against the opposition when needed.
Perhaps the Jets can add to one of these statistics when they face the Raiders this Sunday, with the opportunity to go 3-5 for the season.
