Welsh seals overtime win for Devils against Blaze

Nick Welsh sealed an overtime win for Cardiff Devils after they fought back from 4-2 down to extend their EIHL winning streak to five out of five at the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Brandon Estes opened the scoring for the hosts, an effort cancelled out by William Boysen.

Ryan Richardson put Blaze ahead and Marko Csollak added their third as the visitors took the initiative.

Back came Devils through Jimmy Oligny only for Griffin Ness to notch Blaze's fourth.

But by the end of the second period the hosts were level as Ryan Barrow and Joey Martin found the net and the score stayed 4-4 until Welsh's dramatic winner.
