There are some seriously long hitters on the PGA Tour right now, but none of them are in Kyle Berkshire’s league.
Berkshire is the longest driver of the ball on the planet, and has four world long drive championships to his name.
Incredibly, the 29-year-old American has just broken his own long drive record!
How did you end up falling in love with the game?
Kyle Berkshire recorded a truly amazing 588.3-yard drive earlier this week in Wyoming.
The drive was downhill and downwind, but he still managed to fly the ball 540 yards through the air – a truly mind-boggling feat.
In order to achieve that distance, Berkshire clocked a ball speed of 234.2 mph – 40 mph faster than the average ball speed of the longest hitter on the PGA Tour in 2026 – Aldrich Potgieter.
So, how do the very longest hitters on the PGA Tour compare to Berkshire’s insane distance?
The top 10 longest drives on the PGA Tour all eclipsed the 400-yard mark.
Interestingly, nine of the drives were hit at two tournaments – the US Open and the RBC Canadian Open.
Here is the top 10, with LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau making an appearance after he hit an absolute bomb at Shinnecock Hills during the US Open.
It is no surprise that all of those drives were clocked during tournaments with high winds and firm and fast conditions.
While the longest hitters on the PGA Tour are not even close to being in the same league as Kyle Berkshire, those numbers above are mightily impressive nonetheless.
If anything, though, it’s yet further evidence that something needs to be done about the modern-day equipment and the golf ball if we are to protect our most treasured old golf courses.
