Welcome to the 11/2 PhHN Daily, the first edition of the Daily in November!

In today’s edition, we talk about the latest win for the Philadelphia Flyers. It was their best offensive night of the season, pushing them past an offensively talented team. We talk about the game, a big return, and what went right for the Flyers during the game. But we also talk about what went wrong the day before the game.

Around the league, a trade that has been brewing for what feels like a full season now has finally been completed, sending two prospects, both of whom have not quite panned out, in a one-for-one swap. We also have the latest rumors on one of the biggest fish on the trade market, as well as a minor trade, and more!

Get it all on the 11/2 edition of the PhHN Daily!

Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: The Philadelphia Flyers set a season-high with their 6 goals on Sunday against the Utah Mammoth, leading them to a 6-3 win. Every line was contributing, even if they did not find the score sheet, helping snap the Flyers’ latest losing skid.

In our postgame blog, we discussed Travis Konecny’s return, what was going right for the Flyers, and who stood out in Sunday’s win. Make sure to check it out!

Before the game, however, the team had to make room for Travis Konecny and Owen Tippett on the roster. With Jacob Gaucher back in Lehigh, the Flyers loaned defenseman Hunter McDonald back to the Phantoms. While someone had to go to make room for the two forwards, McDonald was the wrong choice, and it sent the wrong message.

NHL Trade Rumors & News

Sportsnet: It finally happened. The Seattle Kraken have moved on from former top prospect Shane Wright, trading him to the Nashville Predators for forward Matthew Wood in a one-for-one swap.

Just a general thought on the move: I love it for Nashville, but I think Seattle may have gotten robbed. Wood is going to be a pretty solid forward, and is just entering Year 2 in the NHL and Year 3 overall. However, I don’t think he’ll be much more than a 6’4″ third-line winger. It does not accomplish the whole “scoring winger” target for the Kraken, but it gets rid of one of their assets to acquire one.

San Jose Hockey Now: We all know the Sharks are in on the Simon Edvinsson sweepstakes. It’s also well known that they have a ton of assets to trade. But what are those tradeable assets? In his latest plus story for San Jose Hockey Now, Sheng Peng breaks down what the Sharks’ latest offer for Edvinsson looks like.

Boston Hockey Now: A fine is incoming for Nikita Zadorov. Following a good little punch landed on the Blackhawks’ Alex Vlasic. Jack Studley has the latest on the Bruins defenseman’s fine.

New Jersey Hockey Now: To wrap things up, we have an ending to one of the stranger sagas in hockey this season. The Devils have traded goalie Remi Porier to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 2027 7th-round pick. Porier was picked up by the Devils off waivers in late September, but never appeared in a game.
