Mississippi native Cooper Pratt has already etched his name into the MLB history books as a rookie.
The former Magnolia Heights School standout won the 2026 World Series with the Milwaukee Brewers and in the process, set a rookie record for most consecutive hits with six in the championship series vs Tampa Bay Rays on Oct. 28.
"This is one of the greatest moments of my life," Pratt said while beaming in his postgame broadcast interview with FOX. "Oh my gosh, it doesn't even feel real. I don't know. This is surreal."
In total during the five-game stretch, Pratt finished 8-for-19, with a home run, two doubles and seven RBIs.
His lone homer came in the 12th inning of Game 4, and would have won the series had the Tampa Bay Rays not rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning to win 4-3 to force Game 5. In the decisive game, Pratt went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
"Cooper's special, man," Brewers coach Pat Murphy said. "You chart that kid and how he lives his life, you see what he's about. ... He's got a ton to learn, but (his teammates) trust him because he is undaunted, and he's focused, and he's focused on the right stuff, and you can't replace that."
Pratt played for Magnolia Heights in Senatobia, graduating in 2023. He won Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year his senior season and led Magnolia Heights to a MAIS Class 5A championship that year.
The Brewers selected him with the No. 182 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2023 MLB Draft. He elected to sign an eight-year, $50.75-million pro contract instead of going to Ole Miss, where he'd previously committed.
He made is big league debut just four months before the World Series on June 16.
