Why are WSL attendances falling?

Have your say image

It might be too early to draw any big conclusions, but the data so far illustrates WSL attendances are down in some big matches this season compared to previous seasons.

For example, Arsenal v Manchester United hosted at the Emirates had an attendance of 46,603 in 2024-2025 compared to 37, 627 in 2025-26 and only 29,853 in 2026-27.

Similarly, Chelsea v Arsenal at Stamford Bridge has gone from 34,302 in 2024-2025 to just 19,349 in 2026-27.

What are your thoughts? Ticket prices? Scheduling? Less interest? Too early to say? Anything else?
