Championship strugglers Derby County have signed experienced defender Jack Robinson on a three-month deal.

Robinson, 33, had been a free agent after leaving Birmingham City by mutual agreement last month.

He came through the ranks at Liverpool and has spent the majority of his career in the Championship, featuring almost 300 times in the second tier, chiefly for Sheffield United.

Robinson is not eligible to play when Derby host Stoke on Saturday afternoon and will join up with his new team-mates after he is assessed by the club's strength and conditioning team.

The Rams are second from bottom in the second tier, winless in their past six games and recently lost defender Sondre Langas to a groin injury until the new year.
