Goals from Jayden Wareham and Cauley Woodrow in each half secured the three points for the Adams Park team.
That’s now eight points from the last four games, with one loss in 10 since Hounsell took over from Michael Duff at the start of September.
He was won six, drawn three and lost just once.
Speaking on the performance, he said: “In the first half, although we didn't necessarily have loads of shots on goal, I thought we broke their back line a number of times, so I was really pleased with that.
"Just as pleasing was how we controlled the game for about 70 minutes. We made some changes and changed shape, but we managed the game really well.
"To get the clean sheet and ultimately the result is really pleasing. It shows a real difference in our performance and some really good game management.
"The most pleasing thing was the way we finished the game. To control it without the ball was excellent, and we created quite a few transition moments as a consequence of that.
"Overall, it was a really good, complete performance and a pleasing day."
The result was also Wycombe’s third clean sheet in eight games, as they moved in 13th, four points off the play-offs.
Hounsell added: “Credit goes to the players.
“We knew they would carry a threat through their pocket players, and Charlie Webster is a good player who operates with a lot of freedom.
"We knew we needed to stay compact in the middle of the pitch and, generally, I thought we did that really well."
Up next is Accrington Stanley away in the FA Cup.
