New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has been impressive in his return from injury and a key part of the team’s success so far this season.
Nabers elevated his game over the last month, and that performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Month honors for October. Across four games, he recorded 36 catches for 509 yards and two touchdowns, including two outings with double-digit receptions.
His health was a significant question mark entering the season after a knee injury, and there was uncertainty about whether he would be available for the Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Since then, Nabers and tight end Isaiah Likely have emerged as one of the stronger receiving tandems in the league.
The Giants’ 2024 first-round pick has grown more comfortable each week and produced consistently strong numbers throughout October. He also earned FedEx Air & Ground NFL Player of the Week recognition after his Week 6 performance against the New Orleans Saints.
Nabers will appear in his 27th career game on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Through his first 26 contests, he has posted strong production, and his numbers over the first 25 games ranked among the most productive starts for a wide receiver in NFL history.
His play should continue to improve as he settles in after the injury. It will be revealing to watch how he performs with a more consistent quarterback situation over a full season, something that is unlikely until next year. The Giants have cycled through several quarterbacks during Nabers’ tenure, particularly this season.
Nabers’ recent stretch has prompted discussion of the Giants’ top receiver as one of the better players at his position, and the October award is well deserved after the month he just had.
