Manager Phil Parkinson has provided fans with an update on the club’s injured players and he told Chester FC TV: “I think it’s probably come a week too early for the likes of (Jack) Bainbridge and Ma’kel (Campbell).
“We were hoping that we would be able to get some minutes in them players, but it’s just slightly too early for them types of players.”
Other players on the sidelines include Jefferson Abreu and Dan Ward, with Parkinson adding: “Jefferson’s tweaked his hamstring, but it’s nothing major.
“We’re just being really careful with Jeff. He’s a high speed athlete and you just have to nurse them differently to other players when they have these strains.
“It’s something you have to be mindful of when you’re aware that they’ve had a little niggle.
“Dan’s got a bruised foot. So, we’ve just got to make sure that Dan’s able to give himself the time he needs to recover.”
There’s positive developments on Ben Lomax and Oskar Rosenblatt.
“Ben’s accelerated, actually,” added Parkinson. “I think he’s up to 70 per cent of where we would want him to be.
“So, a bit of a Lazarus-type recovery considering his injury and how quickly he’s back.
“It’s just full credit to his professionalism and application, and Oskar Rosenblatt is making good strides as well.”
Fifth-placed Chester are only four points behind leaders, Macclesfield, who have a top-two tussle at home to Hereford.
