The NFL trade deadline is less than two weeks away, and the Houston Texans find themselves in a bit of a predicament.
Does the franchise, sitting at 2-5, go all-in and try to make one last run toward a Super Bowl berth in franchise history? Does it soft-sell on players with expiring contracts to build toward a stronger future in 2027? Or does it sit by after making a move weeks ago and just hope for the best while expecting the worst once Nov. 10 rolls around?
With the Texans sitting in second place for the AFC South division title, with the trade deadline on deck, the indication among NFL insiders is that Houston is a wild card. There are definitely needs in the running back room now with David Montgomery's injury. Houston also could be looking for a dominant presence in the trenches, most notably at right tackle and both guard spots.
Then there's the defense in general, where Kamari Lassiter and Reed Blankenship have struggled. Meanwhile, the linebacker room has been arguably one of the league's worst since Week 2.
