Club ‘alert to every opportunity’ to sign Crystal Palace player – January move possible

Tyrick Mitchell has been linked with an exit from Crystal Palace and the list of suitors for him is now growing.

The left-back has come on leaps and bounds during his spell with the Eagles. He has now played over 250 times for them, having featured in all eight Premier League games this season, finding the net twice.

Under Oliver Glasner, Mitchell reached a completely new level and his best came as a wing-back in the Austrian’s system.

Sport Witness have already covered growing doubts about the defender, who is now on another European giants’ shortlist.

Club alive to possible opportunity

TuttoSport note that the club in question is Juventus, who want to sign a left-back between January and next summer. Andrea Cambiaso is the first-choice but he has struggled in this campaign, having failed to make a mark in their 2-0 loss to Genoa on Wednesday too.

This has forced the Bianconeri directors to look at left-back options, with the Crystal Palace man a possible target.

Club CEO Giovanni Carnevali and sporting director Ricky Massara are ‘alive to every opportunity’ around Mitchell. They believe that even a cheap January move could be possible, with the player’s contract running out in the summer of 2027.

Mitchell’s versatility and physical traits are seen as a big plus by the Old Lady. More than that, they believe he could be a bargain who can offer a lot to the current squad.

Our take: Eagles need to hurry

Clearly, it appears as if those around the 27-year-old are trying to work an exit. This has probably lead to links with Juve, who can also offer Mitchell European football.

This should alarm Crystal Palace, who face uncertainties around Chris Richards and Jean-Philippe Mateta too.

Mitchell is more versatile than both of them though, which arguably makes him a more valuable player. That will also help the player attract more suitors and the Eagles should be acting already.
