Manchester United fans have been invited to have their say on the design of the club's new 100,000-seater stadium.

United's plan to build a new stadium has moved forward after the club acquired a plot of land to facilitate construction earlier this year, meaning Foster + Partners' design work can now resume.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe praised Foster + Partners' initial impressions of what the new stadium could look like when they were revealed last year, but the design planning is at an early stage and the club wants to consult supporters on their opinions before settling on the final design.

United have launched a new survey to gauge fan opinion, and its topics include:

  • Creating a world-class football stadium and match-day experience for all fans
  • Heritage and legacy
  • Atmosphere
  • The wider campus
  • Getting to and from the stadium

United have outlined plans to invite fans from a range of backgrounds and experiences in a series of focus groups to "explore key themes and concepts in greater detail." The club say these sessions will help test emerging ideas and ensure fan views are being interpreted accurately.

As the project develops, United have said there will be further opportunities for fans to provide their views on important topics, including ticketing, affordability, and other aspects of the matchday experience.

Collette Roche, United's CEO of the new stadium development, said: "Our proposed new stadium is one of the most significant projects Manchester United will undertake in the next 100 years, and it is vital that we shape it together with our fans.

"Above all else, this is a football stadium built for them, so getting the details right matters. That’s why we are committed to thorough and transparent engagement, ensuring supporters help inform key decisions on atmosphere, affordability, accessibility and the traditions that have made Old Trafford so special for so long.

"Our engagement with supporters since 2024 has shown there is genuine excitement about the prospect of a new stadium, but we also recognise that some fans will have important questions and concerns.

"Listening to those views and ensuring they are shaping the design is a vital part of the process. By working together, we can create a world-class football stadium that supports success on the pitch, reflects the identity of Manchester United, and gives fans a home they can be proud of for generations to come."

The new survey will be distributed to season ticket holders, cup season ticket holders, executive club members, official members, supporters who have purchased hospitality at Old Trafford within the past three years, and season ticket waiting list members

Supporters who have opted out of marketing communications will not receive the email but can still share their views by completing this survey. They will be required to enter their Supporter ID if they have one.

The survey will close at 12pm GMT on Friday, November 6.
