Netherlands have announced a 14-player squad for the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy 2026, with Babette de Leede named as captain. The tournament gets under way on November 12 in the United Arab Emirates and runs through November 25, 2026.

The Dutch are placed in Group B alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and defending champions Thailand. Group A features hosts UAE, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Ireland and Sri Lanka. All matches will be held across two venues in Ajman, the Karwan Sports Club Ground and the Seven Districts Sports Club Ground.

The tournament has been expanded to ten teams for this edition, up from five at the inaugural event. Thailand won that first ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy in November 2025, and they enter this edition as the side to beat in Group B.

How does this squad compare to the Netherlands T20 World Cup group?

The Netherlands squad for this tournament is largely drawn from the group that represented the country at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England and Wales earlier in 2026. Carlijn van Koolwijk and Hannah Landheer are the two notable exceptions, with both players included in this squad despite not being part of that T20 World Cup group.

The rest of the 14-player selection features familiar names from the Dutch women's setup, giving the side a settled look as they prepare for their Group B campaign against some well-established Associate and Full Member nations.

What is the format and group structure of the 2026 tournament?

The ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy 2026 brings together five Full Members and five Associate nations across two groups of five. Ireland, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe represent the Full Member contingent, while Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand and UAE make up the Associate nations in the field.

Netherlands will face Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Thailand in Group B. The expanded ten-team format marks a significant step up from the five-team inaugural edition, broadening the competitive scope of the tournament considerably.
