Ruben Amorim has named his starting eleven for tonight’s game between AC Milan and Inter, making six changes compared to the defeat against Bologna.
After what was a disappointing mid-week display, the Rossoneri need to get back on track with a strong performance against Inter this evening. Thankfully, several key players are back at Amorim’s disposal, which should increase their chances.
Official Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Pavlovic, Diawara; Musah, Modric, Rabiot; Moreira, Ramos, Pulisic.
Bench: Bouyer, Torriani; Bartesaghi, Estupiñan, Perera, F. Terracciano, Vladimirov; Cisse, Comotto, Hutchinson, Jashari, Vos; Camarda, Menon, Ossola.
Official Inter XI (3-5-1-1): Martinez; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Spence, Barella, Calhanoglu, Sucic, Carlos Augusto; Diouf; Thuram.
Bench: Di Gennaro, Taho; Bovio, Dimarco, Jakirović; Mkhitaryan, Stanković, Zieliński; Bonny, Esposito, Lavelli, Mosconi.
The returning players are Mario Gila, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira, all three of whom are playing from the first minute. Fikayo Tomori’s injury means there was little choice in defence, while Rabiot is a given in games like these.
Moreira starting is perhaps not a surprise, but to see him on the right instead of the opposite flank raises doubts. He has performed at his best on the left, without a doubt, and the performances on the right have actually been quite poor.
In addition to those three players, the likes of Sankhoun Diawara, Luka Modric and Christian Pulisic have been brought into the starting eleven. The youngster is the big surprise here as Davide Bartesaghi and Pervis Estupinan are available too.
A total of six changes, as such, with Amorim hoping that he can get a good response in front of the fans at San Siro.
As for Inter, there are quite a few surprises with the likes of Djed Spence and Petar Sucic starting, while Andy Diouf is playing up front instead of on the flank. Victor Provedel is out of the squad completely due to the flu.
