Leicester fans feel 'connected to team' now - Martin

Leicester City manager Russell Martin believes the fans are finally feeling connected to the team after recording back-to-back wins in League One.

Leicester beat Bromley 4-0 at Hayes Lane on Tuesday to move up to 10th in the table, three points outside the play-offs.

The Foxes won just one of their opening five league matches, putting pressure on summer arrival Martin but have since taken 10 points from the following five games.

"Its been a big two games for us, and I feel like we've given supporters more of a team they can feel connected to," Martin told BBC Radio Leicester.

"We've been aggressive. We've tried to hurt teams., and we've found a balance in the way we're going to play, and a formation that has helped us, so we need to try to keep growing.

"The fans have been great, home and away. We have to keep growing that connection, and ultimately we have to do it on the pitch and give them a team they can be proud of and connected to."

Leicester's previous successive league victories came almost a year ago in November 2025, but Martin knows his project is still in the early stages.

"I'm really pleased we've had back-to-back wins, but this one's done" he added. "We have to learn from it, try and grow again, and try and win on Saturday [at Luton].

"All I can ask from the players, to keep growing and trying to improve. We had some brilliant performances, and real togetherness. Now we have to build some momentum."

The Foxes have yet to come from behind and win in their opening 10 league fixtures, but have not lost in any of the six matches where they have scored first.

"It makes such a difference when you score first," Martin said. "We spoke about it a lot, and together the players and the staff have tried to work out strategies to start games better.

"When we score first with the players and that pitch, teams then have to come after you and hunt you a bit,. The we can find the spaces between the units.

"We're showing more and more toughness. If we can always bring that level of fight and aggression, and willingness to defend properly, then it gives us a chance in every game".
