NFL playoff picture: Broncos are AFC's top Wild Card seed

Seven weeks into the 2026 NFL season, the Denver Broncos (5-2) are well-positioned to make the playoffs.

With a win over the Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) next week, the Broncos would move into first place in the AFC West. As it stands now, Denver's second in the division, above the Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) and Los Angeles Chargers (0-6).

The Chiefs are currently the No. 1 seed in the AFC, with the top four seeds going to division leaders. The Broncos are the top Wild Card seed (fifth overall), with a conference wins tiebreaker over the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2).

Here's a look at the conference's playoff picture going into Week 8.
