‘Waste of Height,’ ‘Needs to Drink More Creatine or Something’ — NBA Fans Baffled as Victor Wembanyama Gets Swatted in Back-to-Back Games

The San Antonio Spurs finally got off the mark on Saturday night. After dropping their previous games against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets, the Spurs earned their first win of the 2026-27 season with a 122-106 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite the result, one moment involving Victor Wembanyama drew plenty of reaction on social media.

NBA Fans Trolled Victor Wembanyama After He Got Blocked on Saturday Night

During thefirst half of Saturday’s game, Zaccharie Risacher, who made his first regular-season start for Dallas with Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving sidelined, showed his defensive capabilities. As Wembanyama attempted to score near the basket, Risacher timed his leap perfectly and blocked the 7’4″ center’s shot.

Fan reactions soon followed.

Interestingly, something similar happened during the Spurs’ previous game. With Houston leading by two, San Antonio called a timeout with five seconds remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Wembanyama got the ball in the paint for a potential game-tying layup, but Amen Thompson rejected the attempt with less than a second left. Thompson timed his leap perfectly and swatted the attempt cleanly at the rim.

Fred VanVleet then secured the rebound and sank two free throws to seal the victory. After getting blocked again on Saturday, one fan argued that Wembanyama isn’t taking advantage of his height.

“Waste of height smh should’ve went to me,” the fan wrote, whereas another one said, “Wemby aura evaporated bro not seen him get rejected this much bro. Blocked by Zaccharie Risacher is not real.”

Risacher finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks in 32 minutes, while Wembanyama put up 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Still, some fans suggested that he isn’t playing at the level he used to, even while helping his team to its first win of the season.

“This man is washed beyond repair,” said one user, whereas another one said, “Wemby has to leave my league immediately this guy is garbage.”

One X user took a different approach to the situation. They jokingly suggested that Wembanyama needed a physical boost to avoid getting rejected at the rim.

“Wemby needs to drink more creatine or something. This is becoming absurd,” the user wrote.

For Wembanyama, the most important takeaway from Saturday’s matchup was San Antonio finally getting into the win column. However, with fans closely watching his every move, the Spurs star will likely continue to face scrutiny whenever things don’t go his way.
