'Most boring World Series ever' slammed as sports fans feel thoroughly let down
Many baseball fans have rendered the World Series unwatchable

The World Series has come under fire from frustrated sports fans, with some branding this year's championship the most boring ever after being left disappointed by the action.

The Milwaukee Brewers blew Game 3 of the World Series wide open on Monday, scoring eight runs in the fifth inning to turn a close contest into a one-sided affair. A 10-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa gave Milwaukee a commanding 3-0 series lead, putting the Brewers one win away from their first World Series title.

Many Brewers fans gathered at American Family Field in Milwaukee for a lively watch party on Monday, while others traveled to Tampa to watch Game 3 in person.

However, the one-sided result left Tampa supporters and neutral baseball fans frustrated, with the blowout threatening to drain the excitement from this year's World Series. "Most boring World Series on record," one fan said on X. "Sad to see for the sport".

"Most boring World Series of all time not gonna lie," another fan added. "This is one of the most lopsided matchups I have ever seen."

A third user wrote: "Hot take: I'd rather be part of one of the most entertaining World Series ever and lose like the Blue Jays did last year than win a really boring World Series like the Brewers are about to this year."

The first two games in Milwaukee were far more competitive, with the Brewers securing consecutive one-run victories, including a comeback from a four-run deficit on Saturday.

However, the Rays have struggled since surrendering their early lead in Game 2, with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy among those questioning their performance.

"Tampa can stop pretending to care about baseball now," Portnoy wrote on X. "This series was dead and buried after the Rays blew 4-0 lead in game 2.

Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser held Tampa Bay to one hit over six innings as Milwaukee moved within one win of the World Series title.

Game 4 takes place Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, where Brewers fans were already making their presence felt behind the visitors' dugout during Monday's blowout.

Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5 and William Contreras finished 3-for-5 as Milwaukee recorded 16 hits against Freddy Peralta and five relievers. The Brewers extended their postseason winning streak to eight games and claimed their fourth consecutive road victory.

"It's super special," Chourio said through a translator. "I think all these fans deserve a championship. We've been preparing for this day a lot. We have one more to lock in for tomorrow to complete the mission."

History is firmly against Tampa Bay, with only one of the 43 previous major league teams to fall 3-0 behind in a best-of-seven postseason series going on to win. The 2004 Boston Red Sox famously recovered to defeat the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series. A 3-0 deficit has never been overturned in the World Series.
